Planning Board · Meeting of April 6, 2026
Franklin Planning Board sends an Olam Estates drainage waiver dispute to the ZBA, unanimously continuing the case to May 11. Chair Gregory Rondeau, Clerk Christopher Stickney and members Mark Mucciarone and Jay Mello balked at putting a stormwater drainage basin on a private lot so developer DiPrete Engineering could add a fifth house lot on a former synagogue site, with Stickney favoring a smaller frontage waiver instead. Town Engineer Michael Maglio noted the board changed its own rules years ago to keep drainage off private lots.
Separately, Rondeau grilled Town Planner Amy Love over a $336,000 bond on an unfinished Uncas Avenue road where sidewalks and street lighting are still missing despite families already living there, warning "it's going to be egg on our face" if someone gets hurt. The board also continued two other subdivision hearings to April 27 and approved two routine lot-line adjustments, 5-0 each.
