FRANKLIN — Recreation Advisory Board approves $20,000 high school signage gift and trash service shift. Chairman Wayne Simarrian, members Kinjal Patel and Larry Pollard voted unanimously 3-0 to contribute from the Fletcher Fund toward a Franklin High School student achievement signage board recognizing state championship teams and academic achievers. The board also voted 3-0 to request the Department of Public Works assume trash and recycling pickup at town fields, removing current costs borne by youth sports groups.
Recreation Department Head Ryan Jette reported $331,000 in summer program revenue over three months with 2,500-plus participants, while spring youth sports awarded $9,000 combined in scholarships to graduating seniors.
