Town Council · Meeting of June 10, 2026

Franklin approves 169.7 million FY27 budget using free cash reserves to close gap. The Town Council voted 6-3 to adopt the spending plan that includes $1.18 million from reserves and six separate personnel resolutions, approving a deputy town administrator (7-2), two school resource officers (5-4), and positions in multiple departments despite concerns from some members about using one-time money for recurring costs. An attempt to add $400,000 to schools failed 3-6.

The council also approved $440,220 for a new ambulance and raised the annual recycling center fee from $35 to $50, passing new winter parking violation penalties on an 8-1 vote.
