Franklin Cultural District Committee outlines MCC grants and cultural initiatives. Chairperson John LoPresti reported all Massachusetts Cultural Council grant funds will support committee-approved initiatives including Porch Fest marketing, with Vice Chair Pandora Carlucci announcing cultural weekends to bundle multiple events with wayfinding and publicity funds. Director of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy Cory Shea updated the committee on World Cup 2026 activities and the Fairy Trails & Franklin Tales event in May.
Committee Member Roberta Trahan reported the town's 250th anniversary celebration will begin with a September 2026 gala and continue through November 2028 with a golf tournament, family picnic, parade, and closing gala, with local churches and schools participating.
