Franklin Conservation Commission authorizes spending on culvert repair and environmental grants. The seven-member board unanimously approved a Notice of Intent for stabilization of the Nicholas Drive-Prospect Street culvert, approximately 100 years old, with full replacement anticipated in the future at an estimated one million to one point five million dollars. The Commission voted 7-0 to spend sixteen thousand fifty dollars on invasive species treatment at DelCarte Conservation Area Pond and authorized up to eight thousand dollars for BETA to write a Department of Fish and Game biodiversity grant application for Maple Hill that could yield up to forty thousand dollars if awarded.
A minor buffer zone activity for National Grid utility pole replacement on Pleasant Street also received unanimous approval.
