Franklin Board of Health votes to withdraw from regional shared service agreement. Chair Kim Mu-Chow and Vice-Chair Jeffrey Harris, with Health Director Cathleen Liberty present, voted unanimously to exit the METACOMET Shared Service Agreement as grant funding expires after 2026. The withdrawal restructures the health department budget to make the Public Health Nurse a full-time municipal employee and hire a food consultant for inspections.
The board also unanimously approved a groundwater-separation variance for 324 Pleasant Street, reducing the required depth from four to three feet.
