Franklin Board of Health approves prior minutes, upholds tobacco violations.

Board of Health · Meeting of March 4, 2026

Franklin Board of Health rejects tobacco retailer leniency pleas. Chair Kim Mu-Chow, Vice Chair Jeff Harris, and Member Diane Daddario voted 3–0 to maintain enforcement of the town's Restricting the sale of tobacco products regulation against three stores cited for first and second violations within 36 months by a contracted Massachusetts Health Officers Association agent on February 18, 2026. Director Cathleen Liberty was directed to notify retailers of regulatory amendments and schedule a six-month follow-up inspection.

The board also reviewed a state Department of Public Health Report My Meal website for foodborne illness reporting and confirmed the May 20 Women's Health Expo will include a Dana-Farber mammogram van offering free screenings from 7 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. at the NE Chapel.
