FRANKLIN — Charles River Pollution Control District approves $350,108.96 in warrants, advances pump station design work. The board unanimously backed combined operations, maintenance and capital warrants, and authorized a $94,500 Phase 2 design proposal from Kleinfelder for the I-495 Pump Station Force Main project, with Franklin billed in FY 2027 and Bellingham in FY 2028. Executive Director Elizabeth Taglieri reported the treatment facility failed NPDES compliance in January and February 2026 due to copper violations, with readings of 14.8 and 14.4 micrograms per liter against a 13 microgram limit; the District and Franklin Department of Public Works plan joint sampling in the Mine Brook Interceptor area to identify high copper sources.
