Design Review Commission · Meeting of March 31, 2026

Chair Sam Williams and Vice Chair Andrew Pratt outlined proposals to simplify sign allowances based on building facade length and strengthen enforcement of non-compliant signs, while Director of Planning & Community Development Morena Zelaya announced an upcoming Commonwealth One-Stop grant application to fund potential revisions. The Commission also considered creating a public art commission--drawing volunteers from the Design Review Commission, Historical Commission, and Franklin Cultural Council--to guide mural and public art decisions, with Director of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy Cory Shea reporting a $50,000 public art earmark and development of a 60-page public art policy.
