FRANKLIN — Design Review Commission approves three sign packages at February meeting, splits 4-1 on pizzeria wall mural. The commission unanimously backed signage for INS Spa at 4 Main Street and Aesthetics Lounge at 9 Summer Street, then voted 5-0 on an awning package for Bar Pizza & Salad Co. at 384 Union Street before narrowly approving a 48-square-foot side-wall logo for the restaurant. Vice Chair Andrew Pratt cast the lone dissent, citing concern about setting precedent under ambiguous bylaws.
Director Morena Zelaya reported that the Metropolitan Area Planning Council will pursue a Community One-Stop grant application this March to fund comprehensive bylaw updates, with results expected in June.
