Council on Aging approves prior minutes, hears housing authority director.

Franklin Council on Aging approved March minutes and heard from Housing Authority Executive Director Nayda Sanchez DeJesus. Ms. DeJesus, certified as a National and Massachusetts Public Housing Manager with 22 and a half years' experience in public housing management, reported the Franklin Housing Authority operates under a 2,000-application wait list with most residents elderly; transportation emerged as the most pressing resident need.
Director Sarah Amaral outlined FY27 budget hearings for May 28, June 3, and May 20-21, with a final vote June 10, and noted ongoing applications for state agriculture and sustainability grants. The council set Senior Olympics for May 18-29 at $15 per participant and deferred Colette Ferguson Appreciation Day to the next meeting.
