Franklin Conservation Commission approves solar project road modification requiring timber matting. The Commission unanimously approved a permit modification for the Maplegate South project at 160 Maple Street, eliminating a proposed 8-inch concrete culvert and gravel base in favor of timber matting to preserve wetland hydrology; Director Breeka Li Goodlander received administrative authority to approve matting specifications. The Commission also closed the public hearing and unanimously approved the Lewis Street Notice of Intent with seven special conditions addressing stockpile storage, native plantings with Latin names, and utility construction details.
Two other projects, Nicholas Drive/Prospect Street and 47 Partridge Street, were continued to April 23, as was the Symphony Drive/Tanglewood Estates project, where the applicant agreed to plug a neighboring drainage pipe at the property line with certified neighbor notification. Three minor buffer zone activities were approved: a vestibule and stairs at 680 Pleasant Street, a shed at 58 Daniels Street, and tree removal at 8 Cardinal Drive.
