FRANKLIN — Charles River Pollution Control District approves FY 2027 budget with 5.3 percent increase over current year. The board, chaired by David C. Formato and including Commissioners Ted Kenney, Douglas M.
Downing, Wolfgang Bauer and Mark Cataldo, also unanimously approved the FY 2025 audit, which identified no material control weaknesses or compliance violations. The board authorized fourth-quarter FY 2026 assessments of $949,950 across four member towns: Franklin $553,480, Medway $198,030, Bellingham $84,280, and Millis $114,160. Executive Director Elizabeth Taglieri reported the treatment facility recorded a February NPDES permit violation for copper levels exceeding permitted thresholds, and the District received a $162,171 GAP energy grant for aeration tank valve installation and transformer replacement.
