Board of Health drafts novel intoxicating products regulation

Franklin Board of Health unanimously votes to draft novel intoxicating products regulation. Chair Kim Mu-Chow ordered staff to model the language on North Hampton's existing ordinance, with board review before a May public forum, after Director Cathleen Liberty presented findings that local tobacco retailers are selling Kratom and psychedelic mushroom products packaged to attract youth. Member Diane Daddario insisted the regulation capture both current and future mind-altering substances.
The vote was 3-0. A public hearing is planned for May adoption.
