Agricultural Commission plans town administrator outreach, tax-info event.
Agricultural Commission · Meeting of January 5, 2026
Franklin Agricultural Commission schedules outreach to town administrator on three farm initiatives. The commission voted unanimously to approve November minutes and agreed to request a meeting with Town Administrator Jamie Hellen to discuss possible use of Schmidt's Farm land, making Franklin a Right-to-Farm town, and creating a town canning center, with Chair Marian Szymanski tasked with scheduling. The commission also authorized an informational event for property owners with five or more acres, featuring Agricultural Commission and Assessors Office representatives, to be held in person and via Zoom.
Meanwhile, commission members continued work on a 2026 brochure featuring Franklin farm photographs and descriptions, with Benjamin Rousseau and Jen Andersen Sweeney assigned to finalize materials for submission to the town's GIS Office.
