Agricultural Commission · Meeting of April 27, 2026

FRANKLIN — Agricultural commission plans three activities for this summer's farmer's markets and is pursuing strategic regional engagement. The Franklin Agricultural Commission agreed to operate seed sowing on June 5, zucchini races on July 24, and pumpkin celebration on October 2, while engaging local farmers, the state Department of Agricultural Resources, and peer commissions. The commission reported on an April 18 Earth Day event in partnership with Fairmount Farm and the Conservation Commission, where more than 15 local farms and makers participated and children and families created bee hotels, bird feeders, and planted flowers and vegetables.

The commission continues farmer interviews and is advancing a digital story map and brochure of Franklin farms for town website and Facebook publication.
