Agricultural Commission plans Earth Day event, approves postcard mailing.

FRANKLIN — The Franklin Agricultural Commission finalized plans for an April 18 Earth Day Farmer's Market featuring over 15 farms and local makers, in partnership with Fairmount Farm and the Conservation Commission. After scheduling conflicts forced cancellation of an April 22 in-person informational event for property owners, the commission unanimously approved a $71 expenditure to mail postcards to five-plus-acre landowners. The commission also voted unanimously to abandon paper brochures, opting instead to create a QR code providing online access to farm images and information.
The commission continues its effort to interview each Franklin farmer and is implementing next steps from its March 5 meeting with Town Administrator Jamie Hellen.
